THE OPPORTUNITY

iCreate responded to a tender published by Medway Development Company to produce a 3D model and flythrough animation, showing the upcoming regeneration of Chatham waterfront, featuring three key development sites and extensive public realm across this part of the town. The objective was to provide local people, investors and prospective homebuyers with a new perspective on Chatham, promoting it as a town that is ‘on the up’, as a great place to live, work and visit – with lively nightlife, shopping and cafe culture along the riverside, and with major new developments already underway.

In addition to an external flyaround of the waterfront quarter, our client required property marketing materials for the three new residential developments set to be released for sale in late 2021 / early 2022, including 3D walkthroughs of the various apartment types and photorealistic CGIs of the interior spaces.

THE SOLUTION

Over a period of 4 months, iCreate worked closely with the Medway Development Company team to plan and deliver a package of 3D graphics including a 3D flythrough animation, two apartment walkthroughs and a gallery of high resolution static CGIs for community engagement and property marketing purposes. 3D models of key schemes were obtained from the architects involved in each of the different schemes, so our role was to update these models, apply realistic surface materials, and incorporate them into our overall 3D model of Chatham, with improved green landscaping and public realm upgrades.

This 3D model was then the basis for a 3D flythrough animation taking viewers on a tour of the vision for the regenerated waterfront area – a film entitled “Chatham Reimagined” – enabling local people and prospective investors to appreciate the plans underway and the scale of the ambition for this part of town.

Meanwhile, photorealistic interior models of three apartment types were created, complete with furniture and decor to match the mood boards provided. From these interior models, we delivered interactive 3D walkthroughs of each unit type, and a set of high resolution static CGIs for use on site hoardings and in sales brochures.
